How much does PLC programming cost in 2026? A small change to an existing program and developing the complete control system for a new machine are different jobs. This guide explains Kedi Machine's proposed starting fees, quotation scope and the technical factors that influence project cost.
PLC programming prices for 2026
The figures below are proposed starting service fees for Kedi Machine. They are not market averages or fixed prices that apply to every project. Final pricing is quoted after the scope is defined. All amounts remain in Turkish lira (TRY); they have not been converted into another currency.
- PLC program review and basic fault analysis: from TRY 1,500.
- Small modification to an existing PLC program: from TRY 2,500.
- Basic PLC programming: from TRY 3,500.
- HMI screen design and programming: from TRY 2,500.
- PLC and HMI software development: from TRY 5,000.
- Comprehensive machine automation: project-specific quotation.
Scope note: These starting figures are a reference for limited software work. Hardware, licences, panel assembly, travel, on-site commissioning and extensive testing are excluded unless expressly included. Request a project quotation through our PLC programming service page.
How is the cost of PLC software calculated?
Changing an existing program or starting from scratch?
Adjusting a timer, adding a sensor or modifying a production counter on a running machine is different from creating multi-station control software. Access to the existing project, backups and controller credentials also affects the time required. Without source files, an initial assessment is needed.
I/O count and control logic
The number of sensors, valves, motors, drives and safety components matters, but is not the only measure. Even a machine with few inputs and outputs may need complex product tracking, timing, interlocks and fault recovery.
PLC brand and engineering environment
Siemens, Delta, Omron, Mitsubishi, GMT, Samkoon and other brands use different programming tools, interfaces and project formats. Required functions, the existing program's condition and integrations are often more informative than the brand name alone.
HMI and communication
An operator panel may need an overview, recipe management, production counters, alarm history and service screens. Where RS-485, Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP communication is required, the scope should also identify addressing, wiring and communication tests.
Example: PLC software for a conveyor-based liquid filler
A bottle-filling sequence typically begins with bottle detection. The PLC holds the bottle in position, operates the filling valve under defined conditions, completes filling when the time or measurement target is reached, and permits the bottle to advance.
- Detection: Read the bottle sensor and prevent false triggering.
- Positioning: Control the bottle stop and check actuator feedback.
- Filling: Operate the valve or pump with defined timing and stop conditions.
- Release: Permit conveyor transfer while maintaining sequence order.
- Counting: Record a completed unit without double counting.
A basic application does not have the same cost as a system with two filling stations, recipes, scale integration and detailed alarm handling. An enquiry should therefore describe the machine sequence, not simply ask for a PLC program.
For a practical interface example, see our HMI programming guide.
What should a PLC programming quotation include?
Provide the PLC and HMI models, whether source files are available, how the machine should operate and the requested changes. An electrical drawing, I/O list and short operating video are useful where available.
Specify source-project delivery, screen count, test method, revision allowance, remote support and on-site commissioning separately. Back up an operating machine before modifying it; safety functions require validation by qualified personnel.
Can PLC programming be carried out remotely?
Yes. With source files and appropriate secure access, code review, logic development, some parameter changes and HMI edits may be possible remotely. Physical I/O checks, motor direction, safety circuits and initial commissioning may still require checks at the site.
For panel connection problems, see the HMI–PLC communication troubleshooting guide.
Frequently asked questions
What is the starting cost of PLC software?
Kedi Machine's proposed starting fee for a limited PLC program review is TRY 1,500. Software development and comprehensive automation are quoted separately according to requirements.
Can I commission a small PLC program change?
Yes. Timer, counter, sensor-logic or operator-screen adjustments can be assessed as a separate job. Program access and test conditions must be checked first.
Is HMI design included in PLC programming?
Not always. HMI design, PLC logic and device communication may be quoted as separate items or one defined package.
How long does PLC programming take?
The I/O list, operating sequence, existing files, communication requirements and test conditions determine the schedule. A delivery date is provided after the scope is established.
How do I request a quotation?
Share the controller model, required work and any existing project or machine video. Contact Kedi Machine's PLC programming service for a project-specific quotation.
A quotation based on your actual requirements
PLC software pricing reflects not only coding time but also the analysis and testing needed for reliable operation. Kedi Machine assesses work from small changes to PLC–HMI projects.
Send the machine details and requested changes so we can define the scope and price together. Discuss your PLC software project.
